Honda Vietnam has showcased the Honda Monkey 125
concept at the 2017 Vietnam Motorcycle Show. The retro styled bike pays homage
to the Monkey bike which is celebrating its 50th Anniversary in Japan.
The Honda Monkey 125 concept remains true to the iconic design and uses
the frame of the Honda MSX 125. The bike is suspended over dual springs in the
rear and upside down forks up front. The bike is shod with Maxxis Tortuga tyres
of the 120/80-12 specification at both ends.
The Honda Monkey 125 concept is a single seater
vehicle with a mix of modern and retro design. The headlamp is circular and
gets LEDs just like the taillamp. The instrumentation pod is shaped in an
old-fashioned manner but gets an LCD. The fuel tank has metallic blue, gold and
silver tones.
The 125 cc SOHC, fuel injection mill will be shared
with the Honda MSX125 and gets a 4-speed gearbox. The air-cooled engine is
capable of producing 9.38 PS of maximum power at 7,000 rpm and 10.6 Nm of peak
torque at 5,500 rpm.
The Honda Monkey 125 is also expected to make its
way to Europe, US, Japan and other countries in the ASEAN region.
