Mercedes-AMG has kicked off its 50th anniversary
celebrations with a new, strictly limited-edition, AMG GT3 Edition 50.Limited
to a production run of just five cars, the
Edition 50 features a unique colour concept featuring on a Mercedes-AMG car for
the first time.
Finished in a bespoke grey paint scheme contrasted
with what Mercedes-AMG has dubbed “real black highlights, the AMG GT3 is
liberally adorned with “50 YEARS AMG” and “50 YEARS OF DRIVING PERFORMANCE”
branding throughout.
Carbon-fibre is
on heavy rotation, featuring on the front diffuser, rear diffuser, rear wing
including end plates, the flics at the front, air intakes, grille and side
skirts.
The theme continues in the utilitarian cockpit with
carbon-fibre accents throughout. The dashboard, sills, door panels, vent pipe
and centre console are all finished in matte black carbon-fibre with contrast
provided by silver-coloured six-point seat belts and the racing steering wheel
spider in silver.
The interior also features a race-spec roll cage and
switchgear with a digital instrument cluster. And to remind you just how
special your AMG GT3 Edition 50 is, a numbered nameplate, ‘Edition 50 – 1 of 5’
completes the ornamentation. Power comes courtesy of an AMG-tuned 6.3-litre V8,
mated to a six-speed sequential racing transmission.
With just five cars available, buyers will receive
hand-over of their car at the company’s Affalterbach headquarters. It also
comes with a free watch, the 50th Anniversary of Mercedes‑AMG timepiece from IWC Schaffhausen, finished in the style of the
car.
