Kinetic MotoRoyale is set to introduce yet another Italian motorcycle brand to India. Having brought in MV Agusta, the Ajinkya Firodia-led company is on the cusp of introducing a lesser known brand, SWM. The company will initially focus on the 650 cc middleweight segment.

MotoRoyale will initially bring the SWM SuperDual T and SWM SuperDual X this calendar year. Both motorcycles are powered by a single-cylinder 600 cc mill originally developed by BMW Motorrad for Husqvarna. SWM’s Chinese partner, Shineray, now own the IPR to the powertrain.

The DOHC engine coupled to a 6-speed gearbox is capable of producing 57 PS of maximum power. The bike gets an 18-litre fuel tank, Brembo brakes (300 mm up front and 220 mm rear) and ABS as standard fitment. The middleweight adventure tourer gets adjustable fork up front and a monoshock setup in the rear by Sachs. A GT kit will also be on offer which includes panniers by Givi and LED foglamps.

The SWM SuperDual T gets a 19-inch front and a 17-inch rear wheel while the more off-road centric SWM DualSport X gets a 21-inch front and an 18-inch rear wheel along with a different gearing ratio. The more road focused SuperDual T is shod with Metzeler Tourance Tyres while the SuperDual X gets off-road capable Metzeler Tourance Sahara tyres.

SWM motorcycles can be expected retailing in India from October 2017 for between INR 5 lakhs to INR 6.5 lakhs. The motorcycles will be sold alongside MV Agusta bikes at MotoRoyale multi-brand retail outlets.
