The magnum opus of the convertible Gallardos, the
Spyder Performante Edizione Tecnica started with the lightweight, carbon-fiber
intensive base of the Superleggera, ditched its roof and also received a fixed
carbon-fiber rear wing and carbon ceramic brakes.
With the high-revving 5.2-liter direct injection
V-10 generating over 560 horsepower at full shriek, and all four wheels putting
all of that thrust on the pavement via sticky Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tires, it's
not unreasonable to expect the Eizione Tecnica to attain 60 mph in a wink over
three seconds.
Like the LP560-4 Spyder Performante introduced in
2011, the SP Edizione Tecnica features a body-length dual racing stripe, as
well as three Italian tricolor “Y” shaped decals on the engine cover. Its MSRP
was just shy of US$ 300,000.
