Hyundai has revealed the 2017 Hyundai Solaris for the Russian market, which will go on sale later this month. It’s the second market to receive the latest generation Hyundai Verna, following China.


Compared to the model sold in China, the 2017 Hyundai Solaris features a new bumper design with three separate intake elements, smaller headlamps that don’t directly flow into the grille, new 5-spoke alloy rims, repositioned registration plate area and re-profiled rear bumper. It is 30 mm longer and wider than the outgoing Solaris, measuring 4,405 mm long and 1,729 mm wide, and has a wheelbase of 2,600 mm.

The Solaris will be sold in four grades: Active, Active Plus, Comfort and Elegance. The base Active comes equipped with two airbags, ESP and front power windows, while higher trims add side airbags, climate control, entertainment system with navigation, a keyless entry system, a rear view camera, double 12V sockets, heated seats and a heated windshield.


The engine lineup of the outgoing model is retained, which include a 1.4L 4-cyl petrol engine with 100 hp and a 1.6L 4-cyl petrol engine with 123 hp. Both can be had with a 6-speed manual or automatic, while rear disc brakes are exclusive to the 1.6 variant.
