Nissan has slightly updated the MY2017 Nissan Micra
(4th gen version) with a few extra goodies, and priced between INR 5.99 Lakhs –
INR 7.23 Lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). Unfortunately, the 5th gen Nissan Micra is
not in the product plan for the Indian market, so the company can only roll out
soft updates to keep the Micra relevant in its segment.
Top-end variants of the Nissan Micra get
automatic headlamps, follow-me home function, rain sensing wipers, the Sunny’s
steering wheel and orange accents to the seats, dashboard and arm rest.
Otherwise, it’s identical to the outgoing car, which received a major facelift
in 2013.
No changes have been made under the hood as well. It
can be had with a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine producing 77 PS at
6,000 rpm and 104 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm, and a 1.5-litre dCi engine with 64
PS at 4,000 rpm and 160 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm. Both engines come equipped
with a 5-speed manual as standard, while the petrol engine can be equipped with
a continuously variable transmission (CVT). It is capable of averaging a fuel
mileage of 19.34 km/l (petrol) and 23.08 km/l (diesel).
Nissan has also mentions a best-in
class Extended Warranty Programme. The owners of the Nissan Micra can also
avail the recently launched Extended Warranty Package for 3 Years/50,000 kms
(whichever comes earlier).
