The 2017 Skoda Octavia is arriving in India around July 10 and Autocar India has revealed equipment changes in the Indian-spec version on a new report.

The changes to the Indian-spec 2017 Skoda Octavia with the facelift would mimic the Euro-spec version. The new quad-headlamp setup, all-LED lights and the 17-inch wheels replacing the current 16-inch wheels make the sedan look more premium. The facelift will also bring new 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with WLAN connectivity for smartphone integration, driver fatigue detection system, configurable ambient lighting, hands-free parking and two umbrellas inside the doors, the report adds.

Skoda has said in its international release that with the facelift, the Skoda Octavia has grown 11 mm in length (from the new bumpers) and that its rear track is 20 or 30 mm longer, depending on the engine variant. The engine and transmission choices will remain unchanged in India. Currently available configurations include 150 PS 1.4-litre TSI petrol (6-MT), 180 PS 1.8-litre TSI petrol (7-DSG automatic) and 143 PS 2.0-litre TDI diesel (6-MT/6-DSG automatic).

The Skoda Octavia is priced from INR 19,28,886 (ex-showroom New Delhi). While a facelift usually leads to a price hike, Skoda could lower the prices instead owing to the GST structure effective July 1. Around Diwali, the company is reported to bring back the Skoda Octavia RS to the market with a 2.0-litre TSI turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine (230 PS/350 Nm) and 6-speed DSG transmission combo.
