Hyundai unveiled the all-new Hyundai ix35 in China
at the Auto Shanghai 2017 in April. Beijing-Hyundai will list the 2018 Hyundai ix35 in China in
December.
The new generation Hyundai ix35 is made exclusively
for China, where the previous generation Hyundai ix35 (second-gen Hyundai
Tucson) is sold alongside the all-new Hyundai Tucson. The crossover
now measures 4,435 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width and 1,670 mm in height, and
has a wheelbase of 2,640 mm. With the full redesign, it has grown 15 mm in
length, 30 mm in width and 20 mm in height. The wheelbase has remained
unchanged.
Beijing-Hyundai will offer the 2018 Hyundai ix35
with two engines – a 1.4-litre T-GDI turbocharged four-cylinder petrol unit and
a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder unit. The 1.4-litre petrol model
will pair with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
In other news, Hyundai is preparing the facelifted
Hyundai ix25 (Hyundai Creta) for China. This model should also launch later
this year.
