Renault needs to keep up with the hype surrounding
the new generation Megane RS, and they have done so by releasing new images of
a camouflaged prototype.
This is shown on snow-covered roads, probably
somewhere in northern Europe, where it was taken to be refined as part of its
development phase, so if you were looking to catch yet another look at its
naked body, then you will be disappointed.
It's been said that the brand's contender to the
likes of the Honda Civic Type R, Ford Focus RS, VW Golf R, and other potent
vehicles in the compact hot hatch segment, will make use of a 2.0-liter turbo'd
four-banger. The engine will deliver around 300 horsepower to the front wheels
through either a six-speed stick shift, or the brand's EDC dual-clutch
automatic transmission.
The 2018
Renault Megane RS is expected to employ a new version of the four-wheel
steering system, along with a sports suspension, and a limited-slip
differential, which will make it agile around corners. The French car marque
will have their new hot hatch on display at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show,
which opens its gates in early September.
