British custom motorcar designer Evanta Motor
Company unveiled the first production model of the Evanta Barchetta 6.2L at the
Goodwood Revival motor show. The Evanta Barchetta is a 2-seater open top
speedster, inspired by the design language of 1950s motorsport. Its sleek,
sweeping curves and low profile disclose its Anglo-Italian parentage.
The formal unveiling took place on Friday 12th
September at Goodwood Revival, with members of the Evanta Barchetta production
team in attendance.
Each vehicle is designed and built in Britain, and
hand-crafted using traditional coach building methods, comprising a composite
body, on a tubular frame. Following in the footsteps of its Le Mans winning
ancestors, the Barchetta’s powerful 6.2L engine produces 450 bhp, which, taking
into account its light frame gives it exceptional agility.
The company will produce both left- and right-hand
drive variants, and the Barchetta will be available with either an automatic or
manual gearbox. Production will be limited to 24 cars per year, with a total
production run of only 99 vehicles - and the waiting list is filling fast.
