The Fisker EMotion electric sedan has been teased
with a revised design compared to the car unveiled late last year. In a tweet
overnight, Henrik Fisker, the car’s designer, revealed a new front-end look for
the vehicle. The more aesthetically pleasing nose features “eyes like a
panther” and a LIDAR unit hidden behind the pseudo-grille. Each of the wing
mirrors will also feature a camera unit.
The EMtion will go on sale during the 2019 model year,
which can take place any time in 2018, and will have a starting price of
US$ 129,900. The company claims the EMotion will have a top speed of
259 km/h, and a range of over 640 kilometres from its
“ultra large” battery pack. Using the company’s proprietary UltraCharger, the
EMotion can given 160 km of driving range in just nine minutes.
The EMotion has a structure
featuring aluminium and carbon-fibre. These two materials also feature heavily
in the car’s lightweight Dymag wheels. The company will reveal more details
about the EMotion throughout June, with pre-orders for the EMotion set to start
on June 30, 2017. The EMotion will be sold online through the company’s
website, as well as “forthcoming experience centers”.
In addition to this, Fisker is promising a “white
glove concierge service, providing Fisker owners a seamless day ‘free of
interruption’ for routine maintenance and servicing”
