Hyundai-Sime Darby
Motors officially announcing the introduction of the Tucson 1.6L T-GDI.
The Tucson turbo is priced at RM 145,588 on-the-road
without insurance. It’s powered
by a 1.6 litre turbocharged and direct-injected T-GDI petrol engine, which is
mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The mill is good for 175 hp at
5,500 rpm and 265 Nm from 1,500 to 4,500 rpm.
The variant gets a few exterior elements to help
differentiate it from the regular Tucson, and these are projector LED headlights
with LED daytime running lights and cornering lights as well as a darker finish
for the 17-inch alloys. New to the SUV is a front camera, a brake Auto Hold
function and a smart powered tailgate system, which offers hands-free operation
of the rear lid.
The kit found on the turbo model
mirrors the current range-topping Executive model. Equipment includes
front/rear fog lights, keyless entry, push-button start, electronic parking
brake, rear air-con vents, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat and a
Supervision 4.2-inch TFT LCD multi-info display.
The Tucson 1.6 T-GDI is
equipped with six airbags, ESC, vehicle stability management, hill start
assist, hill descent control, ABS with EBD and brake assist and Isofix rear
child seat anchors.
Cost-option accessories are available for the car,
and these consist of two leather upholstery packages (RM 1,288 for red, and
RM 1,988 for white), a body kit (RM 2,000) and 19-inch five-spoke alloy wheels
wrapped with 245/45 profile tyres (RM 5,500), the latter replacing the model’s
standard 17-inch alloys and 225/60 profile rubbers.
