Scion wanted to inject more luxury into its models,
so at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show , it will arrive with a new Monogram Series
for a few vehicles, including the FR-S. This new upgrade adds Alcantara and
navigation to Scion’s popular sports car, among many other new features.
The new FR-S Monogram Series hits the market in
February at US$ 27,400 for the six-speed manual version and US$ 28,500 for the
six-speed sequential automatic version. Scion is also offering an optional
premium Whiteout color priced at an additional US$ 395. Only 2,000 FR-S Monogram
Series units will be produced this year.
Updates on the interior include new leather seats
with Alcantara inserts, a Bespoke Premium Audio system with navigation and
connected services, and a Smart Key with push-button start. The high-end
features continue, as the FR-S Monogram Series also comes with dual-zone
automatic climate control, heated front seats, rear-center armrest and a
carpeted cargo mat.
On the exterior, the new FR-S Monogram Series will
look basically identical to a standard FR-S, except for its color-keyed rear
spoiler and standard HID headlamps with LED daytime running lights. Most of the
updates included in this new package are on the inside, and they represent a
retail value of over US$ 1,900.
