The Audi Q3 is starting to get a little long-in-tooth so it comes as little surprise the company is working on a redesigned model that will reportedly arrive in the middle of next year.

The next-generation Q3 will grow in size to help distance itself from the new Q2. Nothing is official but the model will be 5.8 cm longer than its predecessor and have a wheelbase that has been stretched by approximately 5 cm. The additional length will help to create a more accommodating cabin as well as a larger boot that will reportedly hold 400 liters of luggage.

Little else is known about the model but the report suggests the next Q3 will ride on the MQB platform. This could enable the crossover to weigh 50 kg less than its predecessor. Engine options remain unconfirmed but the report says the Q3 will have a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that produces 204 PS. We can also expect a 2.0-liter TDI four-cylinder with around 252 PS.

On the performance side, the S Q3 is rumored to have a 2.5-liter five-cylinder developing 340 PS. An upgraded version of that engine is expected to be found in the RS Q3 with 400 PS.
