Nine years after the release of the Ferrari 16M
Scuderia Spider, the hardcore droptop remains one of the most desirable V8
Ferraris produced in the last decade, perhaps only trailing the 458 Speciale
Aperta.
The 16M arrived after the
430 Scuderia coupe and celebrated Ferrari scoring its 16th Formula One
constructor’s championship. Just 499 examples were produced and prices have
continued to creep up ever since deliveries commenced.
While it is no longer possible to get the keys to a
new example, one used 16M that’s only been driven about 1,000 miles per year
has hit the listings on James Edition thanks to London-based Pegasus Auto
House.
This 16M is a 2009 example painted black and fitted
with a protective film straight from Ferrari. It has 12,553 km on
the clock and is said to be in immaculate condition. From the pictures, it
looks as good as new and really stands out thanks to the yellow brake calipers.
Powered by a screaming, naturally-aspirated
4.3-liter V8 delivering 510 PS, the 16M Scuderia Spider may be underpowered
compared to its modern counterparts but we think it’s worth every cent of the
350,000 euro (US$ 401,345) price tag.
