At the 2017 Bangkok International Motor Show in
March, Honda introduced the Honda 150SS Racer concept. Just months later, the
company has its production version ready.
At a dealership conference in Thailand, the
production version of the Honda 150SS Racer concept was teased. This model is
reportedly called ‘Honda CB150F’, and Tmcblog.com has published its teaser
images clicked at the conference. Note that the same name is used for an
economical commuter sold in Pakistan too. The LED headlamp and seat design look
largely unchanged from the concept version, but changes are immediately evident
on looking at the rear.
A bigger and horizontal LED tail lamp has replaced
the clear-lens LED tail lamp strip. Below the LED tail lamp, clear lens turn
indicators appear on the sides, and further below, there’s a light reflector.
The rear disc brake has also changed, but the exhaust looks very similar to
that of the concept version.
Honda had invested over 6 million Baht in the R&D of the Honda 150SS Racer. At BIMS 2017, the
company had confirmed that it will launch this model. The modern cafe racer was
developed by Honda R&D Thailand Team, under the Street Sport Racing
concept. There’s no word on the production version’s specifications. Thai media
say that the launch of production Honda 150SS Racer may take place in about 3
months from now.
