Following the international launch beginning with Russia last year, the Renault Captur (Renault Kaptur) heads to India this year. Renault is currently testing the new Captur in India, and in the latest, Team-BHP forum member Geo_Ipe has posted spy photos that reveal details of its cabin.

The alloy wheels and onboard equipment give away that the prototype is in the range-topping grade. The instrument panel, steering wheel spokes and climate control system dials have chrome trim. The interior door handle also appears to have usage of chrome. The interior has a black theme, but features body coloured (red) contrasting accents on the centre console and HVAC vents. The centre console probably houses the 7-inch MEDIA NAV touchscreen infotainment system.

The Renault Captur (Renault Kaptur) is based on the Renault Duster‘s platform. Renault could offer it in India in 106 PS 1.5-litre H4K petrol (5MT/CVT) and 110 PS 1.5-litre dCi diesel (6-MT/6-AMT) configurations. An optional four-wheel drive system is a given.

The Renault Captur will slot above the Renault Duster as the more premium model with all traits of an urban crossover. Projector headlights, the emblematic C-shaped LED DRLs and 3D-effect LED tail lights are among the exterior highlights. Other noteworthy features should include keyless entry, remote engine start system, automatic climate control, satellite navigation and four airbags.

The Renault Captur will reach the Indian dealer showrooms in Q3 FY2017-18 (October-December 2017). The Renault Captur’s prices should range from around INR 10 lakh (ex-showroom).
