Until the Tesla pickup arrives, we won’t know if
Elon Musk's company is capable of building a vehicle that can handle any
serious off-road abuse. In the meantime, we can only dream and the following
renderings by Mo Aoun are so accurate they may fool you as the real thing.
What they depict is a Model X that’s been
transformed into an off-roader that wouldn’t look out of its depth at the Dakar
Rally.
Sitting on raised suspension and a set of huge
tires, most body panels of the electric SUV have been retained except for the
front bumper. In its place, there’s a new nose with an integrated bull bar and
two steel tow hooks.
To complete the off-road transformation, the
Model X includes a steel cage on the roof with a LED lightbar, flared wheel
arches and a spare wheel resting on a bracket over the rear window.
