UMW Toyota Motor has
introduced a sporty Toyota Vios for regular customers in Malaysia. Named
‘Toyota Vios Sports Edition’, the special version is now available to book at
dealers.
The Toyota Vios Sports Edition has styling
modifications inspired by the Toyota Gazoo Racing Vios Challenge race car. It
features a sports aero kit with a trunk spoiler, multi-colour stripes similar
to the race car, 15-inch alloy wheels painted in black colour and Sports
Edition emblem on the boot lid. The sporty theme is seen on the inside too.
Exclusive sports seats, unique carpet mats with Sports Edition emblem, sporty
gear knob and amber illumination on the scuff plates and the front footwells
are among the interior highlights.
The Toyota Vios Sports Edition is not just visually
sporty. The special edition offers a sharper handling compared to the standard
variant, thanks to its sports suspension. With this modification, the ride
height has reduced by 27 mm. The lower ride height should result in minimised
body roll. Under the hood is the same 1.5-litre Dual VVT-i engine which
produces 107 PS and 140 Nm of torque. The four-cylinder petrol engine is linked
to a continuously variable transmission.
The Toyota Vios Sports Edition costs RM 85,300 without insurance. Customers will get a Toyota Gazoo Racing polo
shirt customisable with their name, cap and mug. Malaysia still hasn’t received
the India-bound facelifted Toyota Vios that arrived in Thailand in January.
