The Made in India 2017 Honda Activa 4G has been
launched in Nepal at a price of Rs 1,98,900. The scooter was launched by Syakar
Trading, the authorised retailer and distributor of Honda in Nepal.
The Activa 4G uses a 109.19 cc engine that generates
8 bhp of power at 7,500 rpm and 9 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. The scooter
employs trailing link front suspension and a single rear hydraulic shock
absorber. The 2017 variant also gets underseat charging port to charge
electronic devices. It gets Auto Headlamp On (AHO) as well.
The scooter uses 130 mm drums on both ends with
Combi Brake System (CBS) as an option. On pulling the rear brake lever, CBS
distributes the braking force to both front and rear improving vehicle control
while braking. The scooter comes in two new colours – Matte Selene Silver
Metallic and Matte Axis Grey Metallic.
In India, Honda recently inaugurated the fourth
assembly line at its Narsapura plant, near Bengaluru. This takes Honda’s
combined annual production capacity to 6.4 million units, which makes India the
no.1 production hub for the company’s two-wheeler operations for the first
time. In April, Honda’s cash cow reached the 1.5 crore unit cumulative
production milestone. The Activa has also achieved the distinction of being the
largest selling two-wheeler in India, in the financial year 2016-17.
