Coming in a new colour scheme for 2018 is the Ducati Hypermotard 939, in Star White Silk. The satin white finish complements the Hypermotard’s red frame and wheels, and will be Ducati showrooms alongside the traditional Ducati Red Hypermotard 939 which carries a red frame and black wheels.

Carrying a 937 cc Testastretta 11 V-twin, the Hypermotard puts out a claimed 110 hp and 95 Nm of torque. As part of its electronics suite, the Hypermotard comes standard with the Ducati Safety Pack that offers three-level ABS, eight-level Ducati Traction Control and three ride modes.


For the front suspension, a 43 mm diameter Kayaba fork is installed, giving 170 mm of travel, while the rear end is propped up by a Sachs monoshock with rebound damping and 150 mm of travel. Clocking in with a dry weight of 181 kg, the Hypermotard 939 places the rider 850 mm off the ground.

The ultimate Ducati Hypermotard is the Hypermotard 939 SP, which boasts of a dry weight of 178 kg and comes clad in Ducati Red racing stripes. A full-adjustable Ohlins upside-down 50 mm front fork is fitted, with 185 mm of travel. At the back, an Ohlins damper unit is fitted, also fully-adjustable and with 175 mm of wheel travel.


Lean angle on the Hypermotard 939 SP is also increased, allowing the rider to bring the bike down to 47.5 degrees of lean on either side. Seat height on the SP is a lofty 890 mm, and comes fitted as standard with Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tyres.

In Malaysia, the current generation 2017 Ducati Hypermotard 939 retails for RM 70,999, while the touring-oriented Hyperstrada 939 goes for RM 74,999. Pricing for the Hypermotard 939 SP is on application and all prices include GST but exclude road tax, registration and insurance.
