Alpine has released a single teaser of the
race-prepped version of its new A110 sports car. Dubbed the A110 Cup, the
French manufacturer has confirmed that the racer will be designed, built and
sold by racing company Signatech and compete in a one-make series consisting of
approximately 20 entries.
The fine details about the championship are still
being ironed out but the teaser shows that a decent amount of design work has
already been done on the race car. Among the changes separating it from the
road car include a wider front track, racing wheels and tires, a tow hook and
hood latches.
To ensure the A110 Cup meets FIA regulations,
Signatech will also fit a rollcage and strip the interior of any superfluous
items. Numerous aerodynamic modifications will also be made to the exterior but
it’s hard to say if the 247 hp, 1.8-liter turbo four will also be modified for
the series.
Alpine will release more details about the A110 Cup
in September.
