The Benelli Zafferano 250 EFI has been spotted testing in India, near Pune. The camouflaged maxi-scooter was spied by Sajo from Team BHP. The Zafferano is on sale in Indonesia at IDR 45,550,000 OTR Jakarta.

The spy shot indicates that DSK Benelli is seriously considering the launch of the scooter, although there is no official word. The Zafferano 250 EFI uses a 249.7 cc single cylinder engine with fuel injection. It puts out 21.07 PS of power at 7,000 rpm and 20.83 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a CVT.


For braking, the scooter employs dual discs at the front and a single disc at the rear. The suspension duties are taken care by telescopic forks at the front and an adjustable monoshock at the rear. The fuel tank capacity stands at 12 litres and the scooter tips the scales at 155 kg. The 14-inch alloy wheels use a 120-section rubber at the front and 140-section at the rear. The twin-pod analogue instrument cluster has a digital inset as well.

Recently, the 250cc cruiser Benelli MotoBi-250 Patagonian Eagle was also spotted testing near Pune, indicating that Benelli has new ambitions in the Indian quarter litre segment.
