New brochure scans of the Honda 150SS Racer have
leaked on social media. They reveal some finer details of the upcoming
motorcycle.
The 150SS Racer concept was showcased at the 2017
BIMS. In the production version, the headlamp is a split-type LED unit with the
‘Honda’ branding along the centre. The tail light and the indicators are LED as
well. The fully digital instrument cluster displays trip readings, fuel
efficiency, time, and gear position; apart from speed, revs and fuel level.
The bike is likely to share its engine with the
Honda CBR150R. The 149.4 cc single cylinder engine in the faired motorcycle
produces 17.1 PS of maximum power at 9,000 rpm and 13.7 Nm of peak torque at
7,000 rpm. Expect the 6-speed gearbox to be carried over as well.
The front upside down suspension looks like a 41 mm
unit. It gets a gold finish for sportiness. The rear uses a monoshock. The
front wave-style disc brake employs Nissin radial mount calliper with ABS. One
can see the ABS ring and the sensor in the picture. The rear gets a petal disc
as well. The 17-inch ten spoke alloys are shod with tyres which will likely be
a 110 section front and a 140 section rear. The bike gets split seats.
In July, Honda teased the bike at a dealer
conference. The bike was recently spied in Indonesia on the sets of its
promotional shoot and going by the spy shots it is ready to hit the market.
Expect Honda to announce the vehicle in the coming weeks.
