The Mahindra KUV100 facelift has been spied testing
once again. The test mule was spotted by a MotorBeam reader and reveals
additional details about the styling of the facelift. The test mule here is
wearing a relatively lighter camouflage as compared to the earlier spy shots
revealing its Fiery Orange paint shade.
The most notable design detail revealed by KUV100
facelift spy shots is the smoked alloy wheel. Images of the rear show the
reflector unit and rear fog lamp placement, both unchanged from the current
model. The ORVMs also remain the same. These new spy shots reaffirm the changes
that will be made to the exterior of the KUV100. The front bumper will get
restyled air intakes and fog lamp enclosure. The chrome braces in the signature
‘toothed’ grille look bigger. The sunglass inspired headlamps that stretch to
the A-Pillar now appear to extend up to the edge of the LED DRLs. At the back,
the bumper has been tweaked with toned down creases towards the wheel arches.
Also new, is the tail lamp detailing.
As per an earlier report confirming the launch of
the KUV100 facelift, Mahindra is working on a cleaner design to improve the
car’s aesthetics. Changes to the interior, if planned, are unknown. Facelifts of the Scorpio and
XUV500 will also arrive in showrooms before the end of the year.
The engine options and specifications of the KUV100
are likely to remain the same. It will continue with the 82 bhp 1.2 L G80
mFalcon petrol and 77 bhp 1.2 L D75 mFalcon diesel engines. Both engines are
paired to a 5-speed manual transmission in the current model. The KUV100
diesel’s claimed fuel efficiency of 25.32 km/l makes it one of the most fuel
efficient cars on sale in the country right now.
