This is the new Mercedes-Maybach S450 4Matic. It is
a China-only model powered by the same engine as the S-Class S450; a
twin-turbocharged V6 with 333 hp and 480 Nm, the engine is mated to a new
9-speed automatic 'box, sending power to all wheels.
The Mercedes-Maybach S450 4Matic replaces the
China-only S400 4Matic, which was powered by the same engine but mated to a
7-speed auto. So basically the 'new' car gets you a fifty added to the name and
2 extra gears.
Price will start around US$ 225,000. The S400
4Matic was the most popular Mercedes-Maybach of the Maybach range. The others
are the S500 4Matic and the S600. The new S450 4Matic will likely become the
best-selling Maybach very soon.
