There’ll be two new special edition versions of
the Mini Cooper Hatch and Mini Clubman launching in the
coming months. First up will be an October launch for the Mini Clubman Masterpiece, a limited edition model of 30 examples based on
the Cooper S Clubman model. This version gets new 18-inch
Masterpiece alloy wheels, is finished exclusively in White Silver metallic
paint with a black roof, and it has black roof rails and mirror covers.
Other model-specific styling changes include the
addition of black stripes on the bonnet, and cute little LED driving lights
mounted on the front bumper. This variant introduces the Mini Connected data-based app
system (also recently added to the Countryman range), as well as Apple CarPlay and wireless smartphone
charging. Floor mats are thrown in, too.
Mini reckons the Masterpiece model brings a further AUD 17,900 of equipment over the Cooper S, but will cost AUD 11,400 over the regular
Cooper S, which sells at AUD 43,900 plus on-road costs. So, the price will be AUD 54,300. The second Mini model to get a special edition is
the three-door and five-door hatchback Coopermodel, with the Ice Blue edition due here from November.
Bringing back the striking Ice Blue paint from
previous generation Mini models, the 40-model run (20 of each body style) will
see the hatch adorned with black 16-inch alloy wheels, a black roof, black
mirror covers and black bonnet stripes.
It’ll also score LED headlights and the same LED
driving lights as the Clubman, not to mention a few interior additions such as
floor mats, the Multimedia Essentials pack, the Pepper pack, and Satellite Grey
interior trim.
This version will be AUD 5000 over the regular
1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol auto models, meaning the 3-Door Hatch will be
priced at AUD 34,750 plus on-roads, and the 5-Door Hatch will be AUD 35,950 plus
on-roads.
