New SpyShots of the NextEV NIO ES8, a new electric SUV that will be launched on the Chinese car market at year's end. The interior
looks great with an interesting steering wheel, a fully digital instrument
panel, and a very large touch screen.
It looks spacious too and it should be, as the ES8
is just over five meters long and two meters wide. It will seat seven in a
2/3/2 setup. The drive train has two electric motors; one on the front axle and
one of the rear axle.
NIO previously claimed a range of 400 kilometers,
but other sources say it will be 300 and yet other sources say 350. NIO will
probably offer different battery packs, which could explain the differences in
range.
NIO does not have its own factory; the ES8 and
subsequent cars will be manufactured by Changan Auto under a joint venture
agreement.
