Rolls Royce has launched an online configurator for their all-new Phantom, enabling more people than the traditional one percent of the one percent to experience what it means to build your uber-luxury Phantom.

As the company says, you don’t purchase a Rolls Royce, you commission it. Each example is essentially a one-off, tailored to the exact taste and needs of each customer. The all-new eighth generation of the Phantom is based on the company’s bespoke all-aluminum platform which is also set to be used in the upcoming Cullinan SUV as well.

Rolls Royce understandably wanted the new Phantom to be one of the most silent vehicles in the world and that’s why they went to great lengths to make sure it is. The engineers have installed more than 130 kg of sound insulation materials and 6mm-thick two layer glass all around the car. Even the tires are unique as they come with a layer of sound-insulating foam inside them in order to further reduce tire noise.

As a result, Rolls Royce says than the new Phantom is ten percent quieter than its predecessor at 100 km/h. An all-new twin-turbo 6.75-liter V12 with 563 hp and 900 Nm of torque mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission provides the means to move this magnificent beast.
