The Suzuki Gixxer SF ABS has been spotted at a
dealership. A new brochure scan has also been leaked and indicates that both
the fuel-injected and carburetted variants get ABS. The bookings for the bike
has commenced, and the token amount ranges from INR 5,000 – 10,000, depending
on the dealer. Expect Suzuki to launch the bike in the coming weeks. The Gixxer
SF ABS is expected to cost INR 1.05 lakhs, on-road Delhi.
The Gixxer SF employs a 154.9cc single cylinder
SOHC, twin-valve engine which generates 14.8 PS of power at 8,000 rpm and 14 Nm
of torque at 6,000 rpm. Interestingly, both the fuel-injected and carburetted
variants produce the same amount of power and torque.
Fuel injection helps in better cold starts, better
throttle response and cleaner emissions. The engine is mated to a 5-speed
transmission.
41 mm telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock
at the rear handle the suspension responsibilities. A 100-section front and
140-section rear tubeless tyres wrap the 17-inch alloys. For anchorage, the
bike uses disc brakes on both ends. Expect Suzuki to launch the bike with a
single channel ABS to keep the cost in check.
