Tata Motors will add a new variant of the Winger
soon, which can seat up to 15 passengers plus driver. The Tata Winger 15 seater
was present at India International Bus and Car Travel Show, in
Navi Mumbai. The report by Autos Arena states that the 15 seat Winger will
launch this month.
The Tata
Winger 15 seater is built on a 3,488 mm long wheelbase version of the standard
Winger. It looks identical to the first generation Renault Trafic based Winger
that has been on sale in India since 2007. There are new decals and 15-inch
steel wheels on offer. Also, the sliding door has been removed and entry and
exit restricted to the front passenger side door. Each occupant gets individual
reclining seats along with individual AC vents. The report also says passengers
will have access to two USB ports. It will be available in non-AC and AC
variants.
The Winger is powered by the 2.2 L DICOR diesel
engine that develops 100 hp and 170 Nm mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
This engine is BS4 compliant. It is 5,458 mm long, 2,255 mm wide and 2,670 mm
tall with the air conditioning unit. Tata is offering the Winger 15 seater with
a 3 year/3 lakh km warranty, whichever comes first. The Tata Winger 15 seater
will compete with the 3050, 3350, and 3700 variants of the Force Motors
Traveller.
