At the 2017 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto
Show (GIIAS), PT Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) has brought an RHD Toyota C-HR Hybrid
for its local debut. The company has not yet finalised plans for its launch in
Indonesia, and the purpose of its debut at is to gauge customer response.
The C-HR is Toyota’s most striking crossover in
other international markets, which is sure to turn heads on the show floor. It
measures 4,360 mm in length, 1,795 mm in width and 1,565 mm in height, and has
a wheelbase of 2,640 mm. Some of the features include LED powered headlamps
with DRLs and sequential turn signals, LED fog lamps, 18-inch machined-face
alloy wheels, optional dual-tone body colours, roof mounted spoiler, and
LED-powered tail lights.
The interior has been designed to
stand out from the competition. The C-HR is a strict 5-seater with a 370L boot
capacity, which can be increased by folding down the 60:40 split seats. In
other markets, the C-HR is equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment
system, 9-speaker JBL premium sound system, 4.2-inch multi-information display,
ambient lighting and dual-zone automatic climate control.
The model showcased packs a hybrid powertrain, which
combines a 2ZR-FXE 1.8L petrol engine that outputs 98 PS and 142 Nm of torque
with the 1NM electric motor capable of generating 72 PS and 163 Nm of torque.
It sends power to the front wheels via a CVT (continuously variable
transmission), with no option of an AWD system.
