Toyota has launched the Fortuner 2.4 V with 4WD and
added new features to the lineup of the ladder frame SUV. The prices of the
Toyota Fortuner in Thailand have gone up by 10,000-20,000 Baht. The launch of
the new variant takes place a couple of months after the addition of new
variants and features to the MY2017 Fortuner was reported in June.
There is a new 2.4 V 4WD variant on offer now making
it the cheapest all-wheel drive Fortuner available in Thailand. The features added to the 2.4 V include 4×4, cruise control, engine
start/stop system, A-TRC traction control and hill hold assist. Toyota has also
added new features including LED fog lamps, new lenses for the turn indicators
and tail lamps, 8-way electrically adjustable front passenger seat and
redesigned side steps.
The starting price of the Toyota Fortuner has gone
up by 10,000 Baht and now stands at 1.239 million baht. The newly launched 2.4
V 4×4 variant is priced at 1,499,000 Baht.
The Toyota Fortuner range is powered by 150
PS and 400 Nm 2GD-FTV 2.4-litre and 177 PS and 450 Nm 1GD-FTV
2.8-litre diesel engines. There is a 2.7-litre Dual VVT-i petrol engine that
develops 166 PS and 245 Nm of torque on offer as well. All variants
get a 6-speed automatic transmission except for the base 2.4 G trim which gets
a 6-speed manual only. It also misses out on rear disc brakes, unlike the rest
of the variants.
