UM is set to launch two motorcycles, the UM Renegade
Classic and the UM Commando Mojave Edition the following month, states a report
from Bikewale. The launch will happen on 2 September, according to the site.
The Renegade Classic made its debut at the 2016 Auto
Expo. Once launched, the Classic will be the flagship bike under the brand. The
bike uses the same 279.5 cc liquid cooled engine that produces 24.8 hp of power
at 8,500 rpm and 23 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. A six-speed gearbox transmits
the power to the rear wheel via a chain drive.
The bike gets telescopic forks at the front and twin
shocks at the rear. Brakes include a 280 mm disc at the front and a 130 mm drum
at the rear. The fuel tank can hold 18 litres of juice, ideal for long distance
touring. Expect the bike to come with a host of accessories like a windshield,
pillion backrest and the like.
The UM Renegade Commando Mojave Edition is
essentially the Commando with a matte paint job and saddle bags. It will be
sold at a premium over the standard Renegade Commando.
