Piaggio India will update the 150cc Vespa range of
scooters, the Vespa VXL 150 and Vespa SXL 150 with brighter colours and
refreshed instrument console this festive season, states a report from
BikeWale.
The scooters will be updated in a few weeks’ time.
The analogue-digital combo cluster will be redesigned for better aesthetics.
Expect the information on the cluster such as speed, fuel level, time, odometer
and tripmeter readings to remain.
The mechanical underpinnings of the scooter will be
the same as the current generation. They were launched in 2015 and updated to
BS4 norms in March.
The scooters use a 150 cc single cylinder OHC engine
with MAP sensing and Variable Spark Timing Management. Coupled to a CVT the powerplant
is capable of producing 11.6 PS of maximum power at 7,000 rpm and 11.5 Nm of
peak torque at 5,500 rpm. The single side front arm suspension in the scooters
have anti-dive characteristics. The rear employs a hydraulic shock absorber.
Brakes include a 200 mm disc in the front a 140 mm drum in the rear.
