Maruti Suzuki has released the first press shots of
the 2017 S-Cross and has officially commenced pre-orders. The facelifted Maruti
S-Cross should go on sale in India next month, after its unveil on September
28.
The 2017 Maruti S-Cross features a refreshed
front-end with a more expressive styling. The new imposing grille with vertical
bars is flanked by reshaped, LED projector headlamps, a wider lower grille,
restyled bumper, a wider reshaped fog lamp housing and resculpted hood. The
profile does not look any different from before. The 16-inch alloy wheels are
wrapped with wider tyres (215/60 R16). At the rear, the tails, also equipped
with LEDs like the headlamps, have cleaner and sharper graphics.
Maruti Suzuki offers the 2017 Maruti S-Cross in four
grades: Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. Inside, the facelifted crossover has a
satin chrome accent finish, piano black centre console, leather finish
arm-rest, soft-touch dashboard and the latest Smartplay touchscreen infotainment
system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Maruti Suzuki has
discontinued the 1.6-litre DDiS 320 diesel engine in the Maruti S-Cross.
There’s no petrol option yet, either.
The 1.3-litre DDiS 200 diesel engine is standard across
the range now. The company has added mild-hybrid tech in the new model to
improve fuel economy. After the Ciaz and Ertiga, the S-Cross is the third Smart
Hybrid model. A report earlier this month said that the mileage has increased
from 23.65 km/l to 25.1 km/l.
Maruti Suzuki has a network of 280+ Nexa sales
outlets. Bookings for the new Maruti S-Cross have commenced pan-India, for an
amount of INR 11,000. In addition to Pearl Arctic White, Caffeine Brown,
Premium Silver and Granite Grey, there’s a new ‘Nexa Blue’ body colour choice
available.
