Unveiled a few days ago, the new generation Bentley Continental GT has elegantly lowered its roof. Rendered by Aksyonov Nikita with a folding soft top that stores behind the rear seats, the car looks just about ready to challenge the likes of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet.

Since it would use the same underpinnings as its coupe sibling, it would also get thee latter's 6.0-liter W12 twin-turbo engine that was updated to produce 635 PS and 900 Nm of torque. However, due to the obvious weight penalty that comes with the new body style, the 0 to 100 km/h acceleration would probably hover a bit closer to the 4.0 sec mark.

It's unknown when the new Bentley Continental GT Convertible will arrive, but the automaker's affair with the previous model ended earlier this summer, when the Galene Edition was introduced. Limited to just 30 units, it was created by Mulliner, in collaboration with Princess Yachts, and it came with a few special exterior and interior touches, powered a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 unit.
