Despite being released a couple of months ago, the
2018 Hyundai Accent Sport has already received an upgrade for the new model
year. Limited largely to cosmetic and trim updates, the updated single-variant
range now gets a revised front grille, tweaked headlight bezels, and subtle
changes to the cabin.
Up front there’s a new mesh-look front grille and
lower intake, accented by dark chrome highlights for the former. There’s also a
new metallic bezel strip at the upper edge of headlight, which the company says
gives a more “premium look”.
Four new exterior paints complete the exterior
revisions – with Chalk White, Lake Silver, Pulse Red and Blue Lagoon joining
Phantom Black and Sunflower. Metallic and mica finishes command an additional AUD 495. Meanwhile, the interior gets new fonts for the speedo and tacho dials,
along with a revised rev-counter redline graphic.
Under the bonnet is the same 140 Hp/167 Nm 1.6-litre
GDi ‘Gamma’ petrol engine. The MY18 Accent Sport is offered in both hatchback
and sedan body styles, and also provide the choice of a six-speed manual
(AUD 15,490) or six-speed automatic transmissions (AUD 17,490).
