Indianautosblog's reader Rishi Negi spotted the 2018 Mahindra Scorpio Pik-Up
testing in Leh.
The 2018 Mahindra Scorpio Pik-Up features a front
fascia borrowed from the 3-year-old Mahindra Scorpio. There’s nothing strange
in the pick-up version adopting this old design right around the time when the
SUV is about to undergo a facelift as the vehicle has been in the development
phase for a while.
At the front, the facelifted Mahindra Scorpio Pik-Up
features redesigned, dual projector headlamps with “LED Eyebrows”, imposing
radiator grille with chrome accents on the vertical slats, restyled bumpers,
new silver skid plate, reshaped fog lamps and resculpted bonnet with more
expressive crease lines. On the sides, the new model would have faux air vents
housing new turn signals.
The 2018 Mahindra Scorpio Pik-Up will feature a host
of changes on the inside. The cabin will look almost entirely new with the
dashboard, four-spoke steering wheel and centre console borrowed from the
current Scorpio. That, along with a 6-inch touchscreen infotainment system and
new upholstery and trim, should make the interior look premium and modern.
The current Mahindra Scorpio Pik-Up is 5,118 mm
long, 1,850 mm wide and 1,874 mm tall. It has a 3,040 mm-long wheelbase and
offers a ground clearance of 210 mm. There are two engine options available:
2.7-litre CRDI diesel (109 bhp/270 Nm) and 2.2-litre mHawk diesel (120 bhp/280
Nm). Four-wheel drive option is present on both engine models. Expect the new
Scorpio Pik-Up in showrooms late this year or early next year.
