At the Frankfurt Auto Show 2017 (IAA 2017), Toyota
is showcasing the 2018 Toyota Auris and Toyota Auris Touring Sports Freestyle.
The latter is a special edition of the wagon featuring cosmetic updates.
The Toyota Auris Touring Sports Freestyle features
black wheel arch covers and side skirts. Front and rear underbody protection
have been added with an aluminium finish. Other additions include a new black
grille, rear privacy glass along with bright silver ORVM casings. It rides on
black and silver five double spoke 17-inch alloy wheels.
Toyota will offer the Auris Touring Sports Freestyle
will have limited run and will go on sale in Europe in December 2017.
Accompanying the special edition variant is the 2018
Toyota Auris range. Additions include two new colour options – blue and
Manhattan Grey. The former is only available on the Bi-tone models of the
Auris. The latter will be available as a full body colour and in bi-tone
combinations as well. The Manhattan Greybi-tone colour variants also entail a
black finish roof, shark fin antenna, rear spoiler, ORVM casing and front
grille. Toyota Auris Style grade will get a black grille as a fitment.
In its second generation now, the Auris has sold
more than 1.26 million units in Europe with the hybrid variant accounting for
around 400,000 of those. Toyota expects the demand for the hybrid variant to
grow further accounting for more than two-thirds of the Auris’ sales.
