Toyota has expanded its range of RAV4 models on
offer in the UK for the 2018 model year. The 2018 Toyota
RAV4 will be available with a hybrid powerplant for every variant and trim
level. This expansion of the hybrid family follows on from customer demand for
the hybrid RAV4 as two thirds of all UK buyers opt for the petrol-electric
hybrid.
For 2018, the RAV4 will be available in Icon, Icon
Tech, Design and Excel guises. The Icon model is the cheapest in the range and
comes with features including Smart Entry, dusk-sensing headlights,
rain-sensing wipers, Toyota Touch 2 multimedia with a seven-inch touchscreen,
six-speaker audio and Bluetooth connectivity. The Icon Tech then adds
navigation and connectivity functions to the infotainment system.
Next in the range is the RAV4 Design. It sits on
18-inch black alloy wheels and also features LED headlights with automatic
levelling. It also comes equipped with black leather and Alcantara upholstery
and power-adjustable seats.
Last but not least is the Excel grade. It has
bespoke 18-inch wheels, black wing mirror caps, black, beige or grey leather
trimmings and a memory seat for the driver. Additionally, it includes a Blind
Spot Monitor and Rear Cross Traffic Alert alongside some added infotainment
features like voice recognition.
The aforementioned hybrid engine displaces
2.5-liters. For those that don’t want a hybrid, both a 2.0-liter petrol and
2.0-liter diesel are offered across the range. Pricing for the entry-level RAV4
Icon with front-wheel drive starts at £ 27,450 (US$ 37,273) while the range-topping
Excel Hybrid AWD is priced from £ 34,985 (US$ 47,504).
