Despite being "impressed by the calm and
elegant design" of the new Audi A5/S5, ABT Sportsline took a closer look
at the models and decided that they need new body kits.
They added a few discreet visual
elements to the entire family, which includes both A5 and S5 versions of the
Coupe, Cabriolet, and Sportback, such as the front spoiler, rear skirt, and
4-pipe muffler system.
Topping the new styling is a power increase launched
by the tuner earlier this year, which takes the stock 3.0-liter V6 engine of
the S5 and massages it to deliver 425 PS and 550 Nm of torque.
This represents a 66 PS and 50 Nm of torque increase over the regular
models, thus making it almost as powerful as the new RS5.
ABT has also rolled out power upgrades for
various A5 models, including the 2.0-liter TFSI and TDI, and the 3.0-liter TDI.
Completing the bundle of aftermarket parts are a selection of 19- and 20-inch
wheels, and coilover suspension springs, available for the A5 and S5 Coupe, and
S5 Sportback, which bring them closer to the road by 15 to 40 mm.
