To keep it competitive in a market
dominated the crossovers and SUVs, Ford has realigned its Mondeo lineup in the
United Kingdom. Previously counting 7 models, the D-segment car has now been
simplified to just 5, and prices commence at £ 19,445 (US$ 26,401) for the new
Zetec Edition, which has become the entry-level grade.
Standard equipment includes autonomous braking that
mitigates or avoids collisions at speeds under 50 km/h, front and rear
parking sensors, cruise control with speed limiter, DAB radio, and navigation.
Joining the family is the Mondeo ST-Line series,
which its special exterior styling, lowered sports suspension, 19-inch alloy
wheels, privacy rear glass, Ford Power start button, and darkened headliner.
Pricing for this version starts from £ 22,945 (US$ 31,153).
Customers can also go for the new Titanium Edition,
with its hybrid petrol engine that emits just 92 g/km of CO2, among other
powertrains. This flavor also has leather heated seats, with 10-way power
adjustment at the front.
Another novelty for the Mondeo is the addition of
the Vignale Nero Pack. Introduced earlier this year, it comprises of darkened
fog lamp bezels, lower grille, and side strips, and 19-inch alloy rims. These
features are standard on the Mondeo Vignale specification.
Depending on the selected variant, buyers will save
up to £ 3,000 (US$ 4,073) on the Vignale, £ 2,500 (US$ 3,394) on the Zetec and ST-Line
Editions, and £ 2,000 (US$ 2,715) on the Titanium Edition.
