IwanBanaran has published spy pictures of a
retro-style Kawasaki testing in Indonesia. The images appear to be that of the
Kawasaki Estrella 175, which according to a report from June, was rumoured to
be under development.
In terms of appearance, the Kawasaki Estrella 175 is
identical to the Estrella 250 featuring the same retro look. The spy shots fail
to reveal much about the design of the bike, but the report claims the 175 cc
variant is 90% identical to its 250 cc sibling. It gets identical headlamp and
tail lamp along with a single piece seat, spoke wheels, and an analogue dial.
The name of the bike is yet to be confirmed. It may be called Kawasaki W175 and
join the Kawasaki W800 as the company’s third retro style offering in
Indonesia.
It goes without saying that the power and torque
outputs of the Estrella 175 (W175) will be lower than the Estrella 250’s
respective outputs of 19 PS and 19 Nm. The report does not talk much about
specifications. Apart from mentioning that the motorcycle will use a 175 cc
single cylinder DOHC 2 valve engine.
The report claims that bike will cost under IDR 35
million lowering the entry price point of the Estrella range.
Currently, the Estrella 250 is listed on the official website with a sticker
price of IDR 72 million.
