The most powerful version of the Kia Stinger makes
do with a 3.3-liter V6 engine that delivers 365 hp and 494 Nm of
torque to the ground.
However, this could change in the United States, as
the automaker might launch a V8-powered version of the sports sedan, CarAdvice
reports, citing the brand's Australia General Manager of Media and Corporate
Communications, Kevin Hepworth.
The Kia official refused to give word to
speculations, but it appears that a V8 version of the Stinger could use the
5.0-liter naturally aspirated engine that powers the Genesis G80 and G90. In
the latter two, the unit produces 420 hp and 519 Nm of torque.
While a Kia Stinger V8 has a chance to happen, a
true performance-oriented model is currently left hanging in the air, according
to a recent report. This means that those waiting for the exciting-looking
saloon to become sportier (think M or AMG style) will have to settle for the
V8.
