The Gulf Oil livery is one of those classic color
schemes of which we could never really grow tired, whether it's on a Porsche, a
Ford, or an Aston Martin. This, however this is something else entirely. Astute
observers may recognize this as the Rally Fighter, an off-road, jacked-up coupe
made by Local Motors out in Chandler, Arizona.
The crowd-sourced design packs a 6.2-liter GM V8
crate engine in a custom chassis with enough suspension travel to make a Ford
Raptor look pedestrian. It's a relatively obscure vehicle, but even in such
rare company, this one stands out.
Decked out in baby blue and orange, and emblazoned
with the number 33, chassis number AZ336306 is up for grabs. It's been
consigned to Barrett-Jackson for its upcoming sale next month in Las Vegas.
Show up and place the right bid and it could be yours to drive at speed across
the Nevada desert.
