Ford has released the first details about the
upcoming Ranger Raptor. Set to be launched next year in the Asia-Pacific
region, the truck promises to build on the success of the popular F-150 Raptor.
The teaser images don't reveal much but Ford says
the Ranger Raptor will have a "head-turning exterior" that exudes
toughness and capability. The automaker also said the model will have
"off-road performance never before seen in the mid-size pickup truck
segment."
That's not much go to on but the truck will be based
on the double cab variant and feature a revised grille that mimics the F-150
Raptor. The truck also features a returned suspension, side steps, and alloy
wheels with off-road tires. Engine options remain unconfirmed but speculation
suggests the model could come with either a twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 or
an upgraded 3.2-liter five-cylinder turbo-diesel.
