Porsche will live stream their press conference at
the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, which takes place next Tuesday, September 12, at
11:30am CEST (5:30am EST). Those looking to find out what execs have to say
about the current lineup and the future of the brand, and to see the new
Cayenne and 911 GT2 RS resting on German soil, should save this link.
Described as being capable to achieve "the
driving dynamics of a sports car", the new Porsche Cayenne features an evolutionary
styling, and a completely redesigned cabin, with plenty of premium materials
and the latest gadgets, available either as standard or as options.
There's a 3.0-liter V6 engine that powers the
company's flagship SUV, rated at 340 PS and 450 Nm of torque,
which is married to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Buyers can also have the
Cayenne in the 'S' specification, with a 440 PS and 550 Nm of
torque 2.9-liter twin-turbo mill, in addition to other units that will join the
family.
The most powerful road-legal Porsche 911 ever, the
GT2 RS, will also debut at the German event, next week. It was presented this
summer, and uses the a 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine that comes from the
Turbo S and features larger turbos, water-spray cooling, and a titanium
exhaust. The result is staggering: 700 PS and a 0-100 km/h sprint
time of 2.8 sec.
