A year ago, a group of six automotive designers created a modern interpretation of the Porsche 908 LH dubbed the 908-04.

The project gained so much traction and exposure in the media that Porsche actually reached out to the designers offering to work together to promote the futuristic race car through various social media channels. The design team on Behance accepted the offer and have just released an updated version of the 908-04 now adorned with an RSR badge.

The philosophy of the original has been retained but the car now incorporates an interior to match the exterior design as well as an aerodynamic design that would lend itself to competition even better than the first concept.

Rather than a flat decklid and engine cover with no obvious aerodynamic elements, the 908-04 RSR has a huge rear wing complemented by a racing livery very similar to the Porsche 919 LMP1 car. Inside, the RSR adopts a two-seat layout and surprise, surprise, has three pedals and a stick-shift.

With the help of Porsche, the designers were also able to build a scale model of the racer and arrange a photoshoot alongside a red and white Porsche 917.
