VW is showcasing two new variations of the Amarok
pickup at the Frankfurt Auto Show 2017 (IAA 2017). One of them is the VW Amarok
Aventura Exclusive concept. Finished in ‘Turmeric Yellow Metallic’, the concept
car adds several visual upgrades to the double cab variant of the VW Amarok.
There’s no shortage of bling thanks to the inclusion of chrome finished side
sills, styling bar on the cargo box, grille, exterior mirrors and rear bumper.
The concept features the roll cover system, which is a lockable and waterproof
cargo bed cover. It gets an aluminium finish. As does the front underbody
protection.
The headlamps are bi-xenon units along with LED
daytime running lights. The pickup truck wears high-gloss polished 19-inch
‘Milford’ wheels.
In the cabin, the VW Amarok Aventura Exclusive
concept gets black leather with contrast ‘Turmeric Yellow’ stitching. Features
include 14-way adjustable ergoComfort seats, 3-spoke multifunction leather
steering wheel with paddle shifters, ParkPilot, rear view camera, and the
Discover Media navigation system. Making an appearance for the first time in
the Amarok is the new black roof liner. Like the exterior, the interior too
gets chrome accents.
Under the hood, the Amarok Aventura Exclusive
edition gets an updated 3.0 L V6 TDI diesel with an increased power output of
258 PS as well as a higher torque output. The transmission of power takes place
via an 8-speed automatic gearbox and permanent all-wheel drive. A mechanical
100 per cent differential lock aids off-road abilities of the Amarok.
